Trip to the Beach... getting warmed up for CA!

There's a great little island named Jetty that is up in Everett. We went there on Saturday with the whole fandam including newly arrived Jamie (via Japan and Texas) and Steven (via Monterrey - in Air Force). Gavin and I got our toes down in the sand...

Gavin did not get the concept of the bucket for scooping... he picked up sand and put it in the bucket... Sandy Sandy boy... Much better reaction then last time if you remember...

It was so sunny and warm - WAY nicer than I thought... the sound is so shallow that the ocean water is very warm for a long way out... reminds me of Lake Tahoe with how shallow it is for so long... but this water was actually probably warmer - Weird. Tahoe trip July 2008 looking forward to it!

There are the handsome Uncles with Gavin.

July Happenings...

Gavin gets mad too. I usually only take and post happy pictures, so I thought I'd post a mad face.

On Sunday, we went to Aunt Jessipoo's house for a bbq. He has a routine; when we get there, he goes to the shelf and carefully removes the picture frames in the front row, grabbing the one in the back of him, then puts the other ones back. He carries the picture around with him. Here, you can see him playing with the horses... on top of his face. Pretty Silly boy!

Then Aunt Jessica and Aunty Jen (Jessica's roommate) came home. Gavin ran over and gave BIG HUGS... Gavin loves his Aunts!

We played with Gavin's new baseball bat. He LOVES baseball stuff. He has a couple bats and balls. Most recently this FABULOUS pink foam bat with a matching pink softball. He has great coordination. He can hit the moving target on the floor every time. It's amazing.

We went to a park last night over in Lynnwood. It's a great park. Gavin likes parks a lot. It's been nice weather here so almost every day after I pick him up from daycare we go to a park to play. It serves many purposes... fresh air, exercise, tiring him out, making him hungry so he eats better dinner, keeps us all happy.

What we've been doing...

We went on a nature walk through a park in Monroe... I've mentioned my Activity Day Girls before... Gavin loved it. He always likes being outdoors with me.

Same night, Yes we're dorks, Jeff, Jessipoo, and Me at the Imax theater in Seattle... waiting in line to see Harry Potter. We were trying on our 3D glasses. Aren't we sexy? Big plastic glasses are hot. I guess I really am shorter then them. Sad :-(

We were house sitting for a friend-- and dog sitting-- and Gavin just LOVES Dogs! He kept going over to Sophie and giving her "hugs" by laying his head on her. He would follow her around forever and ever. Now I know why families have dogs: because it keeps the kids busy. Perhaps it was the novelty of being around it, but I could get Gavin to do anything if I said Sophie would like it.

Braver than I am... Gavin feed Sophie treats. I throw them in the air and the dogs catch them. Gavin likes them to eat out of his hand. Isn't he a stud?

Gavin and Sophie Smiling. They followed eachother all over the yard.

More July stuff

Most recently, last weekend, I spent Saturday night at a beautiful wedding for my coworker, Andrew. It was really nice-really sweet. Here is Katelynn (another coworker and friend) and I at the wedding, then a view from our seat. It was a great ceremony...ending with "Another one bites the dust" music playing as they walked back down the aisle. Very cute. It was hot, in Wenatchee WA, about 98 degrees at the beginning of the ceremony, the during the dinner the sun set and it cooled of the the best summer night I have experienced in YEARS. It was warm with a breeze...man, awesome!

Then, last night, Gavin and I were invited to a tea party. It was such a blast. He did really well picking up food with these tiny little forks. We had a burping contest which I did not win! Then we played bocce ball and catch until the mosquitos came out and we went inside..then to bed late. It was great. I haven't had a drink out of a teacup since I can remember. Have to do it again...tiny treats and sweet drink. Good company and good games. So, that's about it for July so far. Half way through...wow...less then a month until our AWESOME CALIFORNIA VACATION!!!

July July

Well, that's my foot. That's what I did on 4th of July. I went to Spokane on Tuesday night and spent time with a friend, driving back Thursday. It was great. My foot killed many a bug on the way back...it took a little while to realize what the cool wetness was on the bottom of my foot...then looking through the bug gut covered windshield, I realized what my foot was catching. Nice pedicure job though huh? :)

We went to the zoo again...we ate apples and watched animals...

...Then Gavin fell asleep and we walked back to the car and drove home.

I've mentioned before how much we like to hang out on the trampoline. I like to chase Gavin with my feet and grab him and tickle him or lift him up and stuff. He LOVES a little trampoline play...these are my feet attacking the child!

We've been just enjoying work, daycare, playtime, babysitters, movies, and all kinds of great things so far in July. Fun times.

GO MARINERS

Well, Last week was a great week...got 2 Mariners games in...I love baseball games...at the stadium at least. On Wed I watched the Mariners shut out the Pirates with my fabulous coworkers and on Sat I helped the Mariners root Griffey on from cheap seats. I pick great games to go to! Saturday I brought Gavin too...he loves Baseball. I bought him his own little glove and ball that he likes to hold in the car. So cute. He slept through a few home runs...but enjoyed the rest of the game. Here are some pics:

Spokane for Fathers Day

Jeff drove with Gavin and I to Spokane to visit my dad for Father's Day. I love road trips, even short ones. My dad and I like to play with beads. Lucky for me...so does Gavin! He was so funny putting all the strings around his neck over and over and over. We had a great visit. Gavin also LOVED the swimming pool at the hotel. Everytime we walked by he did the ASL sign for MORE and pointed to the pool. Next time we'll have to spend longer in that pool!

Putting them on....

Sitting Pretty....

Being tickled by Grandpa's Beard....

Jumping on Stacey's Back....still light enough to feel good :-)

Zoo Trip

Here we go, we were at the Zoo with Rebecca, Jeff, and Grandma. It was a nice day. Nice to be out and about...we just wandered and enjoyed eachothers company. FAIR WARNING: I bought a membership for Gavin and I so I forsee many more zoo pictures in the future months :-)
The GORILLA

Picnic Lunch...Gavin was just so good all day. So much fun to be a Mom for Gavin at the zoo.

Aunt Becca, Cousin Kaitlyn, Uncle Jeff, and Gavin-enjoying a stroll through the butterfly world.

Heather Lake Hike

Awhile ago we hiked Heather Lake. It was great-embrace the exertion! The bottom was a little chilly. We climbed high enough to get into the snow (Stacey did not like this as much in tennis shoes and cotton clothes). It started raining and was really wet at the top. The lake was beautiful-but I would like to back in the fall when the snow has melted and we can walk around the lake. One of my favorite wildflowers, trillium, was everywhere. In purple or white it has 3 petals and 3 leaves. Very pretty.

What we've been doing...

Well, here's some more...I got on a download kick and pulled all my pictures off the cameras.

This group is of my 8-10 year old Activity Day Girls (some of them) we went to Baskin Robbins for 31 cent scoop night. We meet every other week and do awesome things. Last week we practiced lighting a fire and played games and made smores. We've done sewing, fashion shows, games, letter writing...all sorts of fun things!

Gavin making a mess with his popcorn...of course it's more fun to eat after being dumped out all over everything! And after church one Sunday (I think) he crashed. It cracks me up when he sleeps like this.

Pictures Pictures

So here are some recent things...hope I get the picture matching descriptions...I'll just put all notes here:
Gavin's first chicken wing...yummy! Notice the haircut? Yup, no more girly man curls. He's got big studly man hair now.

Hm, Notice Jeff's Uncle button? He only goes out with me with the button...got tired of being called dad...the girls liked him either way really.

For people that want more pictures of my beautiful face...there's one of some friends and I before going dancing a few weeks ago. I like these people. We have fun together.

Gavin likes going down slides! Sometimes I go with him to help him stay upright-and sometimes he goes by himself. He's growing fast but still small enough to do all kinds of fun tricks on the way down-like going upside down head first down the slide. Good thing I was there to take his picture and catch him at the bottom.

And riding in a car...Growing up up up, Gavin is very tall and very opinionated-one of which he got from me I guess. We are doing well, working sleeping playing...going to Spokane this weekend and enjoying a visit from Rebecca (sister in Utah) and her daughter Katelynn for a few days for JEFF'S GRADUATION!!!! He made it to the end of high school. Way to go Jeff, LOVE YOU BROTHER MAN!!!
