Merry Christmas!-Almost

We've had a busy few weeks. I feel like I'm still adjusting to singleworkingmotherhood! Or at least, readjusting with each new stage Gavin goes through! He's walking (or toddling) around everywhere. He's quite the climber. I'm amazed at how tall he's getting, he can reach the burners on the stove if he stretches up his arms. He's been a little sick the past week or so. He's getting better now which means better sleep for mom and a happier Gavin during the day. We went to Cannon Beach, OR with friends over Thanksgiving. Gavin is quite the charmer. We had fun on the beach. He was a little sad that mom wouldn't let him play in the wet sand...but it was pretty chilly. I'm excited for Christmas. It'll be interesting to see how much Gavin gets of the whole unwrapping bit. Best Wishes to all....Love from Stacey and Gavin

Goofing Around

Before Jeff's Jazz Choir Concert the other day Gavin and I got to play with Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jessica and her new apartment. Gavin likes to play! He was especially enjoying the piano...a musician in our midst?

The mandatory pumpkin picture

I made Gavin sit by pumpkins to celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving. He was actually much more entertained pulling and eating the grass. Oh Well. I suppose it's good that he likes green stuff. Veggies are good! I'm excited we've got a few trips planned the next few weekends. Gavin is a great traveller. We're going to Monterrey, CA next week to take Uncle Steven his car...and then to Cannon Beach, OR the following weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving-and my first long weekend since starting my new job (which I still love). Best Wishes to all.

November Arrived....

Well, It's November, Gavin turns 10 months in 2 days! He is standing but not walking yet and a really healthy, happy baby. I hope he starts to walk before it snows so we can go play in it! I still love my new job; I'm so lucky to have such a great place to work. We are excited for a road trip to Monterrey in a few weeks to see Uncle Steven and I can't wait until Christmas! I think Gavin is going to have a great time unwrapping presents. I've heard that kids his age don't pay as much attention to the present as to the wrapping so I intend to wrap some of his favorite toys now and have him unwrap them along with new toys. Someday he'll laugh at that. We can go to parks now! Gavin loves the swing! I love that he's up off the ground so I don't have to continuously pull bark out of his mouth.

Camping Trip Fun

We just got back from a fun trip to Cle Elum, WA. We picked up Jeff in Wenatchee from visiting our dad in Canada. We had fun camping near the Yakima River. Gavin had more fun eating the rocks on the shore than getting wet in the river. We walked around a tiny lake many times and just hung out at camp. I start my new job on Wednesday. I'm the Consulting Department Coordinator for Parity Corporation. I think I am really going to love the job. I'm excited to finally have steady employment-my first since I finished school.

Gavin is crawling all over the place. He still goes head first down steps and out of doors-that makes mom very nervous! He pulls up on things too, I think he'll be ready to walk soon. He now has 5 teeth in! It's amazing how fast he grows and changes. He's such a good boy.

SWIMMING AND PLAYING WITH THE COUSINS

Gavin was quite the swimmer. He loved being in his floating whale and being just with me in the water. I'm so glad he LOVES the water. He had fun playing with his cousins and we had a great vacation. Love to all.

Wow, over a month!

I can't believe June is gone. I graduated. Gavin turned 6 months old. We moved. Wanted to post a few pictures, so here they are. Gavin's First 4th of July!! He stayed awake all afternoon and through the evening, and fell asleep right as the fireworks were starting. He watched 2 explosions and then was CRASHED OUT.He slept through all the big booms and bangs and everything. He enjoyed playing with the dog earlier in the day. I'm glad to say he loves animals more than his mom! We've also been on a few hikes in the Cascades. He LOVES the outdoors.

Summer is Here

Summer is around the corner. We're getting lots of sunshine, rainstorms, and wind. I graduate next Saturday, so awesome! Gavin has rolled over a few times but is generally not interested in rolling anywhere. He found his feet! He has started eating some cereal and usually does really well. We said goodbye to Uncle Pevey (Steven) as he went to join the air force on Monday night (Memorial Day-very appropriate). He likes it when I play guitar and sing to him. He likes looking at books. Most of all he LOVES being outside. Our neighbor has a 7 month old girl and they 'play' together, side by side in their saucers. He likes bubbles outside too. We are excited to move on but will really miss the people in Ellensburg.

Gavin's getting bigger...almost 16 pounds!

Well, Gavin is getting huge. One of our favorite things to do is go for walks outside. Gavin loves to look at everything. He usually spends some time looking over the side at the grass and sidewalk passing by too. Then he falls asleep and I wheel him home. It's been so nice. The past few days have been just plain hot (Gavin's not a huge fan of the heat yet). Only a few weeks left of school, I think we're going to make it!

May Day

Gavin looks like such a big boy lately. At almost 4 months...he's about 14 1/2 pounds. He is grabbing objects on purpose and still practicing the whole rolling over thing.

Life keeps going

Well, we've had a busy few weeks as always. I'm still going to school, will graduate with honors on June 10! YEAH!!! It seems very far away right now. We had fun celebrating Grandma's wedding to Gavin's new Grandpa Jon. Gavin had fun playing in the grass in the easter basket that I forced him to sit in. He has rolled over about half a dozen times, from his stomach to his back, but seems to not remember that he did it the next time he's stuck on his stomach. He's making lots more fun noises now too. The weather has been so nice we have spent several afternoons outside. He's not much a fan of being on the actual grass but loves the fresh air from a blanket.
