New Pics

Gavin is doing some funny new things - he tells me when he needs 2 hands for something - he said he changed his mind - he says 'Actually' all the time - he makes sure to tell me to Stop - S - T - O - P at the stop signs - and is generally a bossy happy kid :)
you can see pictures of us at this link:

There is a section called 'Puppy Love' that has pictures of Gavin and I :)

We've moved and are busy setting up the new house and loving summer.

More Easter Goodness

Gavin's mommy (yes me) was SO nice that she made special Easter egg pancakes - well - they were special colors anyways. Later on Easter Grandma made special bunny cookies... and Gavin got to hang out with Jessica and her man, Cody. He had a great day! We both did.

Gavin Doin his thing..

Eggs and Easter

Grandma's chickens make special eggs - and therefore special dyed color also.

Random Awesomeness

Lunch and Build-a-Bear Workshop with Aunt Jessica.... and Grandma's Trampoline!

Waking Up

Again - waking up and getting dressed and getting out the door = MAJOR ACCOMPISHMENT EVERY DAY!!! Even after he's dressed - he likes to go back under the pillows - my bed or his to get dressed on - same scenario!

Also - got 2 red chairs - Gavin likes them.

Zoo Trip

We still go to the zoo often...I like the fresh air and walking around. Gavin loves being in control of everywhere we go I think. I just follow him around. I felt like a mean mom when I made him ride the carosel by himself. Let's clarify - he chose to spend the dollars in his wallet on a ride - and I am not a big fan so I told him he'd have to do it alone. He did! The lady operator said if he got too scared she could stop it early. About 6 spins around and he started saying "I'm done, Mom" each time he saw me. But I just stood and cheered him on and waved. He cracks me up.

Gavin Sleeps

It's hard to wake Gavin up sometimes. Easier to go to sleep Wednesday and Thursday nights... but tougher to wake up Thursday and Friday mornings. The weeks are long. He is a good sport as long as we talk about how awesome the day is going to be and what snacks he can have in the car (usually crackers and cheese) and what we will do when I pick him up from daycare...He is a good boy.

Gavin doing his thing

He's in the orange shirt! I have to hide the 'Boo' Ghost Sweatshirt apparently. Clothes are not a battle I fight very often. If he took off the sweatshirt he would match and be cute. I guess he's cute anyways haha. Gavin still loves Gymnastics a TON! He does circles around most of the other kids and has some real athletic talent. He's amazing. Yes, I have to think that... but also - it's true!

Went to San Francisco

Went to San Francisco for work - had a GREAT week (Thanks Mom for keeping Gavin :) )
Found a bookstore with a good name - sung some karaoke - did a lot of footwork - visited awesome family - and worked a lot.

2nd Half

(Read previous Post first for context)

I went back to tuck Gavin in and turn off the light - about 20 minutes of book time. I had heard a little noise but overall things were quiet over there. I walked into his room and he had piled all the blankets and toys and books on one half of the bed all around him - the other half was all clear - just the mattress. He looked at me and proudly said, "Look Mom, I worked too! I cleaned my bed. I no get out, I good." (This means he did not get out of bed, he was good and stayed in as I asked.)
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at my little hard worker. He was so funny. He's growing up so fast. And he's a thinker.

Happenings...

Well, I have pictures - but they will have to wait for a different day. We had a New years Eve party - at home and were sleeping by 11... There was a birthday party - a big #3! Baseball party! And then we have had some great little moments. And then today we went to the doctor. Gavin is in 75th percentile for height and weight - the doctor is pleased with his development overall and said I'm doing a great job! What mom doesn't need to hear that every now and then?!

Funny things every now and then. My favorite part of every day lately is brushing teeth. Our night-time routine. We get to giggle and copy each other and I can't measure how much toothpaste has gone up my nose when I laugh at him. I am teaching him how to spit well. He makes funny noises. I love the little bonding moment before the power struggle to stay in bed.

Tonight I set him up with some books and said he could read for 10 minutes. Then I said I'd read for a few minutes or work and then come back and put him to bed (I have the blessing and curse of being able to work from any computer anytime!) He said, 'No, Mom, you worked already - you read book.' Such good advice from my little man.

More advice - at a stoplight this morning my little back seat driver yelled 'Green mom - Go mom, GO!' I said thank you - I will when the cars move. He said 'Come on cars - get a move on.' I don't know where he learns these things!

Anyways - he is cracking me up. Growing fast and saying more and more things. I am working hard and tired a lot - trying to be all things awesome to all people. My house is clean - laundry is done - work mostly caught up - and I'm going to read a novel now. Life is good.

Not Every Mom....

Not every mom gets to be interrupted in the shower by a JUICE EMERGENCY! After rinsing the shampoo out of my eyes and off my hands I was able to get the straw out of the little plastic wrapper and inserted carefully into the little silver circle on the cardboard apple juice box Gavin needed RIGHT NOW! Maybe every mom gets to be interrupted by almost 3 year old boys and their juice emergencies. Maybe they are just that lucky. My first thought was... 'how long is this going to go on? Maybe next year I'll get to shower in peace and shave both legs in the same session!' I would rather be interrupted by a healthy thirsty child then responding mid-rinse to screams and bangs when things have fallen or broken, though. I am so thankful for hot showers, juice boxes, and a healthy happy never thirsty boy. Such silliness! There is always something to make me grateful for the little patience I have and the giggles that never end!

Dinosaur Play

Um... ya - years and years ago this was an activity I loved.... some things never change? Well - Gavin was entertained.

Snow Play

The Northwest got some snow! At my mom's the official 3 day count was 23 inches. That's a lot of snow. Gavin and I have made good use of our snow gear. We made snow angels, cleared off the trampoline outside and rolled around in the snow, made a snow happy face, etc. Snow is beautiful. Thank goodness for 4 wheel drive - I was pretty mobile throughout the snowy week.

Christmasness

Pevey and Gavin got to play legos on Christmas Eve. They built a great pyramid and shot a man from a cannon. Very lovely. Santa found Jessica and Cody on Christmas morning. We all enjoyed opening stockings. We opened presents and enjoyed Grandma, Granddad, and everyone. It was a very Merry Christmas!
