Mini Golf in Leavenworth

On the Way back from Spokane we stayed in Leavenworth. Jeff had 3 friends come over and meet us and stay with us: Dan, Kyle, and Austin. We did lots of swimming and on Memorial Day played Miniature golf at an amazing course. The putting greens were world class - very cool. Made me sad that Gavin was hitting at the golf ball with a baseball swing and disturbing the grass. Austin tried to help him. It was nap time so Gavin spent about half the time being upset about having to share and tattling on Jeff for making him wait his turn. Oh toddlers.......

Aunt Jessipoo at the Park

For Memorial Day we went to Spokane to visit Grandpa Bill and then stopped in Leavenworth and had a great and fun weekend. On the way back we stopped in Monroe and had dinner with Jessica and played at a park. It was super! Speaking of dying hair :)... Her's is a really pretty red - Mine is in my first 'blonding' phase with few highlights - next time it will be brighter.

And... it's almost the end of may

So these are some pictures from when Uncle Pevey came up to visit. And for the record, I'm going back to blonde. I miss it! (For those of you behind the times... I wanted to try burnette life so I died my hair dark about a month ago) Life is good, all good things. I love the townhouse - I'm starting the spring cleaning purge! Gavin is growing fast and is saying more things... 'happy' 'lap' 'play place' 'enough' 'thanks'.... still not sentences... more like lots of words individually. He cracks me up. Yesterday morning we had one of those great moments. I was getting him dressed at the early hour of 6AM and my right eye was mostly closed. He said 'eye?'. I told him mom only has one eye today. I lost the other one. He laughed and giggled SO hard... he said 'two eye, two eye'. I said nope, see only one eye! For some reason it was the funniest thing in the world to this toddler that mom thought she lost an eye. So he helped me find it! Picture us laughing and rolling on the bed looking for a lost eye... It was a great moment. Especially for 6 AM. We aren't usually that alive in the morning - it's more of a get out the door approach. My June resolution - make the mornings mean something!

Mariners

Gavin at the park... we go to a park in Kirkland with a Train - he likes that one. About half the time after I pick him up from daycare we'll go to a park- weather permitting of course...

Before the Mariners Game - he was SO excited to go see BASEBALL!!!

Well... the game was kinda lame - but we had fun anyways watching the balls- and yelling Hit or Miss He also really liked the boat race on TV. They do a hydroplane around Lake Washington filler spot between innings. He continued to ask for "More Boat!"

What else... Gavin has learned to say "me go first"... that's been fun. He also is one of the smartest kids I know. This weekend we were going somewhere and he started saying 'no jill no jill' because it was Saturday... and he knew that he wasn't supposed to go to Daycare with Jill that day. I had to assure him that we weren't going to Jill's... we were just going down the same road. How does a 2 year old know from a spot on the freeway that we're nearing the daycare exit? Very perceptive. He does the same thing when I take a different exit to go home. He starts getting upset, instructing me to go home go home... as if I was taking him somewhere else. Funny boy.

Tulip Festival 2008 Mt. Vernon

We went to the Tulip Festival last year and YAY we went again this year. I'm so glad we went! We walked through the street fair - more fun to watch Gavin watch all the dogs and jump in puddles then actually enjoy the street fair. Maybe if we were hungry we would have enjoyed all the greasy food but we weren't so we didn't get any. Anyways - then we drove around all the fields. I LOVE the fields of flowers!!! Next post has some of my favorite pictures. Anyways - love the tulips and daffodils :)... and for fun see the picture I like from last year- Tulips 2007.

FLOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I REALLY LOVE THE TULIP FESTIVAL IN MOUNT VERNON!!!!

Playing in Bellingham

Sunday (yes two days after the really big snow) - it was cool but sunny - we went to Bellingham to pick up Uncle Jeff and hang out. We played at a fun park with a boat. (Boulevard Park in Fairhaven)
And with Uncle Jeff around I got some pictures of me WITH Gavin - and my new darker hair.

Wet stuff

Snow and puddles - I got snowed in at Grandma's this most recent Friday. We got between 8 and 10 inches in Maltby. Saturday I drove home and the snow had already begun melting. Gavin and I still got to play in the snow a bit and then later the puddles that were left. He was so cold - straight to a warm bath. It was a pretty fun time.
Pictures are of my front door - I'm #1! We'd already made snowballs off of the left side of the snow-covered bush. and walked all over. But real snow! And our pink geranium got a little snowy. And Gavin got wet!

'HAT, HAT, HAT'

One day week or so ago as we were driving all of a sudden I hear Gavin screaming Hat Hat Hat... so I stopped at the light and turned around to see Gavin wearing his 'hat' of baby wipes. After saying "Gavin, those are 2 cents each!" I took away the baby wipe container he had nearly emptied to make his hat and let him enjoy it. He's so silly!

Gavin does chores

... and Gavin LIKES doing chores. He's in the 'me do' 'me help' stage of life. He likes to vaccuum at Grandma's especially.

Gymnastics Class

Gavin gets to go to gymnastics with his daycare friends every Wednesday morning. He has become a very good listener and does really well in all the activities. He can touch his feet to the bar (which is good I guess :) ) and do all kinds of fancy trampoline jumps and acrobatic things. Fancy for a toddler at least. The pictures are all so blurry - Gavin was in constant motion and I'm just not that great of a photographer. Maybe next time I'll ask if I can go down to the floor next to them to take picturs. Anyway, he loves it and is good at it. I love watching him do cool stuff.

GYMNASTICS... and other things

Gavin in Gymnastics class.... with the girls waiting and then playing in the foam pit and on the bars. He really is my little monkey boy.
